Later mass today, so we walked to Homeplate on Lombard for breakfast, picked some fruity treats at the Fort Mason Farmer’s market, identified a lovely picnic spot for a future Sunday, and then frolicked in Aquatic Patk. And at the end: literal Flipflops on Filbert from Leavenworth down!

Reaching my October goal of 10,000 steps a day requires mutiple walks throughout the day. Here are some photos of two of the spots I hit on yesterday’s 3 walks (I didn’t think a mid-day walk to Trader Joe’s merited photos). First thing in the morning, I saw the sunrise over the “crooked street” and I had a lovely rainy afternoon walk at Stowe Lake in GG Park.

Today’s blog is an homage to my husband, and today’s walk commemorates the 8th anniversary of our first date at 1896 Hyde Street. Luella may be gone, but the corner where he turned and suggested it, and the driveway that he turned into to help me with my broken foot are still decidedly in place! Fun to stroll past these familiar spots today on my WW walk. Happy anniversary, lb!
Back on familiar turf
Great walk at the Seton Provincialate today, as part of the SHC faculty/staff retreat. Moves tells me it was 39 minutes…tip to tip on the far end of the property, plus the lake and the Stations. Saw a huge jack rabbit hopping on one end and a huge buck crossed my path on the other end. A hot, but gorgeous day. Love that place! Loads of fond memories, particularly of Emmitsburg connections, and statues of friends abound all over the property.
